 Oct. 20-21 Arrive Beijing and check into hotel

Oct. 22 (Mon) Day 2, Beijing

     7:30 AM: Depart hotel for Mutianyu Great Wall.

     Afternoon: Temple of Heaven

     Evening: Performance of the Gold Face Dynasty show.

 

Oct. 23 (Tu) Day 3, Beijing

    7:40 AM leave hotel for Tiananmen Square, then cross the street to tour the      Forbidden City.

    11:25 AM leave for lunch hosted by Mr. Zhang Heqiang, Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, #1 Taijichang St., Dongcheng district 东城区台基厂大街1号

 

    1:10 PM Leave by bus for WWII museum near Beijing's Marco Polo Bridge.

    2:00-3:45 Tour WWII museum and walk on Marco Polo Bridge, then head back to hotel.

     6:30 depart hotel

      7:00 PM CDR-hosted dinner at Dadong Peking Duck, 5^th floor, Jinbao Place, 88 Jinbao St. tel: 85221111

 

Oct. 24 Beijing-Quzhou train G33 9:40 am – 17:02 pm

   8:00 AM leave by bus to Beijing Rail Station for train to Quzhou

   9:40 AM depart Beijing.

   5:02 PM Arrive Quzhou, bus to Guanfa Junyue Hotel, check in.

    Evening; After dinner go to Zheng Weiyong's home to view his collection of Raiders-related items.

 

Oct. 25, Thur Quzhou

    8:00-8:30 AM leave hotel and ride bus to Quzhou #2 Middle School.

    8:30-9:45 CDR scholarship awards ceremony; see “Friendship Tree” planted by Jeff Thatcher in 2015.

    9:45 leave school for Air Raid Shelter at Wang Cun, known as “the Cave".

   10:30-11:45 see air raid shelter; conduct Hennessy toast ceremony. See ex-KMT Air Force office

   11:45-1:30 PM ride bus to hotel; lunch.

     2:00 depart hotel for Quzhou Memorial Hall to Germ Warfare Victims.

     2:15-3:00 tour Memorial Hall to Germ Warfare Victims. Chinese media interviews of CDR members.

     3:00-4:00 opening ceremony Quzhou Memorial Hall to the Doolittle Mission

     4:00-5:15 tour memorial hall; John Griffin present 2 items, which had been his father's, to museum.

      5:15 depart memorial hall by bus to hotel.

      5:45 CDR banquet hosted by Quzhou officials at hotel.

 

 Oct. 26, Fri: Quzhou-Jiangshan

   8:00 AM depart for Jiangshan Archives bureau for briefing by bureau head Xu Qing; view artifacts.

   NOON drive to Narada Junlan International Resort Hotel in Jiangshan, check in. 君瀾·江山國際度假酒店 江山江东一区 #15,  #15 Jiangdong 1rst District, Jiangshan, tel: (570) 4051888. Lunch at hotel.

   2:00 PM leave hotel for Jiangshan Doolittle Raiders Memorial Hall at Baoan.

   2:45-4:45 tour Raiders Memorial Hall and nearby museum to WWII Kuomintang Spy Chief Dai Li.

   4:45-5:45 drive back to Jiangshan hotel.

   6:15 meal at hotel hosted by Jiangshan officials.

 

Oct. 27, Sat: Jiangshan

   7:45 AM leave hotel, ride mini-buses with Jiangshan Archives Bureau personnel to remote farmhouse where Raider Charles Ozuk stayed. Susann Ozuk meet with descendants of Chinese who rescued her father. 

   11:00 drive to town

   12:00-1:45 Lunch in rural restaurant, hosted by Jiangshan Foreign Affairs Office

    2:00-6:00 PM tour Changtai sites where some Raiders had stopped; meet local eyewitness who saw them. 

    6:00 arrive at hotel

    6:30 Dinner (Jeff Thatcher meet visiting Lishui/Suichang officials who'd opened a Doolittle Raider Memorial Hall in September). 

 

Oct. 28 Sun: Jiangshan-Linhai

    7:00 AM leave hotel, drive to Enze Clinic Museum near Linhai, Zhejiang, where crew #7 stayed (see “30 Seconds Over Tokyo”). 

   11:30-12:30 lunch hosted by Enze Clinic at the clinic canteen, Linhai.

   12:30-1:15 PM tour clinic museum with Raiders exhibits.

    1:30 PM head to Linhai train station for G7600 train to Shanghai 15:05 -18:12 pm.

    7:30 PM check into hotel.
